Personal message: Teaching gives me the opportunity to engage with children and develop their faith. I enjoy working collaboratively with others and encourage students to achieve their potential. It is important to make a difference in the classroom and continually work towards providing innovative opportunities for students to be successful learners.
Statement of areas of responsibility: Allison shares a Coordinator responsibility for Science and Technology. She leads and supports staff in effective delivery and implementation of the new Science and Technology syllabus. Allison also plans and implements STEM activities for Years 3–6 and is a Mentor Teacher.
Professional experience: Allison began teaching at All Hallows Catholic Primary School Five Dock in 2019 in the role of classroom teacher and coordinator. Prior to this, she worked as a classroom teacher at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Primary School Sefton. Allison is accredited as a proficient teacher and has been teaching for 26 years. She has held leadership roles at previous schools, including Acting REC and Sports Coordinator. She is currently completing the Mathematical Expertise and Excellence Professional Learning to support teaching Mathematics in the classroom.
Qualifications: Diploma of Teaching (Middle School) and Bachelor of Education (Primary) (Australian Catholic University)
Professional interests: Facilitating STEM and continuing to develop differentiation in the classroom. Building upon students’ self esteem and promoting growth mindset in children. Helping students make connections with their learning.
