We value positive relationships with parents and carers, because when we work together, children have better social and emotional skills, are more engaged in their learning and attend school more often, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
Engagement in Learning
At All Hallows Catholic Primary School Five Dock, our motto is ‘Celebrating faith and learning’. We invite parents twice a term for ‘faith and learning walks’ providing an opportunity to see learning in action in the classroom. Parents are invited to support learning in the classrooms. Many other opportunities exist throughout the year to visit the school, including ‘meet the teacher’ nights and two weekly assemblies.
Communication
Our primary communication channel is through Compass, a web based school information platform. Other ways we communicate with parents are through a fortnightly newsletter, emails and phone. Parents can also call to book an appointment with a teacher.
Supporting the Students
Our Parents and Friends Association (P&F) actively strengthens the partnership between family, school, parish and the wider community. They organise a number of community events throughout the year which foster new and old connections.
